The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) issued Financial Lives, their flagship survey of UK consumers, which provides nationally representative data about consumers’ attitudes towards managing their money, the financial products they have and their experiences of engaging with financial services firms.

The FCA use the survey to track and monitor consumer experiences, and they make the data available for others interested to help drive improvements in consumer outcomes.

The latest survey reports on:

  • the impact of the rising cost of living on consumers’ finances
  • provides insights into how effectively firms were already meeting the requirements of the Consumer Duty before it came into force in July 2023
  • Consumer trends from 2017 to 2022.
